007 First Light’s first DLC is now available and adds a new game More

007 First Light launched earlier this year with the promise of future content added to TacSim mode, and IO Interactive ultimately followed through.

The 007 First Light Extended Operations DLC launches for free today and adds five different missions to TacSim mode, as well as New Game Plus, new outfits, and a photo mode that was somehow missing from the game at launch.

Four of the new Operations will revolve around Valhalla, the supercar you can play with in the campaign, as once. Based on the trailer, these Valhalla missions resemble test drives, where you’ll use the car’s weapons and gadgets to complete challenges with a timer. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to simply replace it in other missions where you’ll have to drive significantly less exciting vehicles – at least not yet.

IO Interactive also added a New Game Plus mode, and that’s probably what I’ll dive into first, especially with the path tracing update released a few weeks ago. The mode also brings a new 00 difficulty, which is meant to be significantly harder than the original game’s Purist difficulty. Enemies will react more quickly, some NPCs will be replaced with more difficult variants, and combat will be much more unforgiving with two-hit kills and a narrower parry window.

Beyond the content additions, IO Interactive is also improving weapon animations and enemies will now be able to throw you off a cliff, just like you could do with them in the base game. It’s fair, after all.

This is the first content-based DLC for 007 First Light and is a welcome return for one of the best games of the year so far. IGN’s 007 First Light review returned a 9/10. We said: “Clearly obsessed with bringing the Bond fantasy to life in a way that no one has ever managed before, 007 First Light is the best Bond game I’ve ever played. »

While I’m sure some people were hoping for an expansion of the story, the Expanded Operations are free and should help people out before James Bond embarks on any more official adventures. Hopefully the game will finally release on Switch 2 next.
