Titled after a Twitter meme, automatic smile by @ unfolds like a series of private jokes told between friends. These friends – Filipczak and Victoria Rose – started out as folk-pop pranksters, but when they debuted on 4AD, they became brain-rotten Rawlings and Welch. My Gen The duo’s first real LP since the pandemic is inspired by lost jingles and now-defunct technology like these two pals pictured above.
