SAN JOSÉ, Calif. (KGO) — San Jose firefighters responded to the scene of a plane crash that injured three people in the area of Capitol Expressway and Excalibur Drive Saturday afternoon.

The accident was reported shortly after 3 p.m. when a small propeller plane crashed into the roadway.

Two adults and a child were on board the plane and were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to firefighters.

SJFD said no vehicles were involved in the crash. However, the accident caused a small fuel spill that SJFD said was absorbed.

The plane is a 1968 Cessna 177A Cardinal and is registered to Flying Twenty Inc., a nonprofit flight club for San Jose State University students, alumni and faculty, according to Federal Aviation Administration records.
