2026 B/R College Football Week 6 Winners and Losers
You’ll rarely be impressed with how Iowa wins, but the Hawkeyes win. A lot.
After a convincing 41-24 road win over Washington, they are in prime position for the playoffs. Halfway through the season, Iowa is 5-1 with last week’s loss to Ohio State.
Quarterback Jeremy Hecklinski completed 12 straight passes (three for touchdowns) in an offensive outburst to close the game, and combined with Kamari Moulton’s 208 yards, Iowa dominated.
Now they have a schedule for the rest of the game that likely won’t see them as underdogs. Minnesota in two weeks won’t be easy, but then they host Wisconsin, travel to the Northwest, host Purdue, head to Illinois and close out the season at home against Nebraska.
None of these are gimmicks, but if coach Kirk Ferentz’s team is running the table, it could make the Big Ten title game. Even two losses, including one in a championship game, could give them a strong enough roster. At this point you need to be careful.
