2026 midterms: how many early votes have been recorded so far?
WASHINGTON —
Early voting is underway for the 2026 midterm elections in several states, with millions of ballots already cast.
The Get the Facts Data team is tracking early and absentee ballots ahead of Election Day, November 3. The data comes from the University of Florida Election Lab, which has tracked early voting data since 2008 and also tracks early voting results. Early voting counts are compiled directly from state and regional sources.
Use the map above to see how many early votes were cast in each state, including accepted absentee ballots and early votes. The data does not show election results, only the number of votes cast.
In 31 states plus Washington, D.C., voters can register under a party affiliation. When this data is available, it is included in a state’s data. Not all states allow or have yet opened early voting.
