The New York Jets will play their first divisional game of the 2026 NFL season on Sunday when they visit the New England Patriots in Week 6. This will be a crucial contest whose outcome will shake up the AFC East standings. Offensive coordinator Frank Reich will need a productive performance from his unit after beating the Cleveland Browns last week despite scoring just 17 points.

Jets Wire has identified three potential X-factors for the Jets’ offense against the Patriots in Week 6.

Braelon Allen, RB

Jets running back Braelon Allen had 116 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries in the Week 5 win over the Cleveland Browns. It was a career-best performance for the former Wisconsin star. With Breece Hall still sidelined, the Jets will need another big performance from Allen.

Mason Taylor, T.E.

Rookie tight end Kenyon Sadiq remains in the concussion protocol after back-to-back ineffective performances. Mason Taylor caught all three of his targets for 24 receiving yards against the Browns. There’s a good chance he finds himself in an expanded role against the Patriots.

Garrett Wilson, WR

It goes without saying that the Jets offense will need star Garrett Wilson to be extremely productive. This offense is shorthanded without Hall, AD Mitchell and possibly Sadiq. Wilson had 104 receiving yards and a touchdown in Week 5. A repeat performance would help the offense against a Mike Vrabel-coached defense.
