Benjamin Satterley, the former professional wrestling star who went by the name “PAC” in AEW, died of bronchial asthma, the Cook County medical examiner’s office has ruled.

His death was officially ruled a natural death, with no foul play suspected.

The New York Post was first to report the news on Friday.

Satterley, who also performed under the ring name “Neville” in WWE, shockingly died on September 27 at the age of 40, just a day after his final wrestling match at AEW All Out 2026. Satterley was discovered unconscious around 4 p.m. in a rental car outside a restaurant in Des Plaines, Illinois, and was eventually pronounced dead at the scene.

According to a police incident report, Satterley’s phone was directing a Google Maps path to Chicago’s O’Hare Airport when it was discovered, and a woman who knew Satterley told authorities the wrestler was heading there after stopping at the restaurant for lunch.

Hailed as one of the most acclaimed high-flyers of his generation, Satterley debuted as a professional wrestler in his native England in 2004, then joined WWE in 2012, becoming a two-time WWE Cruiserweight Champion, one-time NXT Champion and two-time NXT Tag Team Champion during his six years with the company.

After parting ways with WWE, Satterley became one of AEW’s first major signings in 2019, where he remained for the next seven years. Satterley has won multiple championships with AEW – he became the promotion’s first All-Atlantic Champion in 2022 and twice won its World Trios Championship – and had the distinction of being the first wrestler in AEW history to hold two championships simultaneously.
