  • Amber Glenn’s outfit had a mind of its own DWTS Disney evening.
  • The Olympic figure skater wore a cape that flew around her face during her quickstep routine.
  • Glenn played Hercules in the dance and directed his partner Pasha Pashkov, who also played Hercules.

Amber Glenn’s outfit for Dancing with the stars“Disney Night had its own idea.

The Olympic figure skater danced a quick step to “A Star is Born” by Hercules during Monday’s episode, sporting a flowing white cape on the back of her golden bib as she channeled the iconic mythological hero. (Glenn and his professional partner, Pasha Pashkov, played Hercules in the routine.)

The cape wanted to do its thing throughout the dance, and at one point it flew towards Glenn’s face during a critical move. Fortunately, the fabric found its place on his back.

Despite the wardrobe malfunction, Glenn continued the dance and received a score of 34 out of 40 from the judges, including an 8 from guest judge Cynthia Erivo. She also received an 8 from Carrie Ann Inaba and a 9 from Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli.

Glenn actually led Pashkov in the dance, which Inaba said was the first time a woman had led a man during a routine in DWTS history.

“When we switch roles, she will have to take the lead and I will have to take the back seat,” Pashkov explained in their pre-dance package, telling Glenn, “I will give you the reins of power.”

The athlete wanted to showcase her strength, admitting before the dance that she was never one to wear princess dresses but always beat her own drum.

“See the formation arc in Hercules It was something that inspired me a lot,” she shared. “I wanted to be the hero.”

Glenn added: “I used to be afraid of my muscles because I thought I wasn’t graceful enough. But not anymore. Now I’m going to show Pasha who the real Hercules is in this partnership.”

Glenn was competing against Maura Higgins, Tatyana Ali, Julia Stiles, Connor Wood, Ezra Frech, Jenna Dewan and Harry Shum Jr. on Monday night – with the pool of contestants shrinking each week.

Slaytopia took on the Wildcats team, performing a routine to “We’re All in This Together” from High school musical. Their group consisted of co-host Julianne Hough, Wood (team captain) and Rylee Arnold, Frech and Daniella Karagach, Dewan and Val Chmerkovskiy, and Shum and Jenna Johnson.
