A former San Francisco deputy police chief died, alongside her daughter, in an apparent murder-suicide perpetrated by her husband, a retired police sergeant, according to the Marin County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities identified the victim as Ann Mannix, 65, a former SWAT commander, her 24-year-old daughter, Katie, and her husband, 68-year-old retired San Francisco police Sgt. Kevin Mannix.
“Preliminary investigation indicates a suspected double murder involving three individuals,” Marin County Sheriff’s Public Information Officer Miguel Almaguer said in a statement. “The suspected shooter is a man.”
Speaking later at a press briefing, he specifically identified Kevin Mannix as the shooter and said he could not discuss the evidence found in the home.
