Apple launches iOS 27.0.1 for iPhone, here are the new features

Apple just released iOS 27.0.1, a new iPhone software update with key bug fixes for issues introduced in iOS 27. Here’s what’s new.

iOS 27.0.1 fixes iPhone 18 Pro Face ID issue, includes additional bug fixes

iPhone users, Apple has just launched its latest software update. iOS 27.0.1 is now available for installation via Settings ⇾ General ⇾ Software Update.

Here’s what Apple’s official release notes say:

This update provides bug fixes for your iPhone, including fixes for the following issues:

• iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max may restart unexpectedly when Face ID fails to authenticate
• Color artifact may appear in photos taken at 2x in certain lighting conditions at f/1.48 on a small number of iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max devices.
• Opening Notification Center and Control Center at the same time may cause the touchscreen to become unresponsive.

As 9to5Mac Previously reported, some iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max users experienced crashes when Face ID was unable to properly authenticate them. Apple promised a fix would arrive this week, and it has now delivered via iOS 27.0.1.

Of the fixes listed in Apple’s release notes, only the Notification Center and Control Center issue applies to all iPhone models.

But Apple’s notes generally don’t cover all the changes, so older iPhones will likely also benefit from other bug fixes not mentioned in iOS 27.0.1.

iOS 27 was released two weeks ago as a major new iPhone software update. As is the case most years around this time, the public release showed up some bugs that Apple wasn’t able to discover during beta testing, so iOS 27.0.1 fixes some of those issues.

An update is also available today for iPad users: iPadOS 27.0.1. The release notes for iPadOS simply say: “This update provides bug fixes for your iPad. »
