Apple Music 7.0 for Android rolls out with Liquid Glass redesign

After a month of beta testing, Apple Music 7.0 is rolling out with a redesign of Liquid Glass for Android, as well as a new icon for the streaming service.
This update starts with a changed musical note icon in black or white, depending on your device’s theme, replacing the previous red background. Likewise, the accent color in Apple Music is now blue.
Old versus new

The app now has a floating bottom bar that lets you see content above, below, and to the sides. There is a small amount of translucency that mainly allows you to see solid colors below the navigation item. The mini player gets the same treatment and is no longer anchored to the bottom bar. However, compared to iOS, scrolling does not collapse the bar into a more compact version.

Version 7.0 introduces a very modern edge-to-edge design for Android’s system status and navigation bars.
Apple Music top bars have been updated. The page title and overflow menu are now on the same line, while the three-dot icons no longer have a red theme and have been placed in circular containers. The Library tab sees a significant update with “Edit Pins” and “Edit Categories” now part of the three-dot menu.
The artist pages have been completely redesigned with a now themed background based on the cover image. Matching the iOS design, there is a clearly visible play button and information page, while sharing has been placed in the upper right corner.

The Settings page has also been modernized with better grouping. There are no major changes to Now Playing, which has not seen any major updates on iOS.
With a recent release, Apple Music for Android has moved to a new versioning system aligned with iOS. The current version 7.0 corresponds to iOS 27 and is now widely deployed via the Play Store.
