Starring Liev Schreiber (Ray Donovan), Zazie Beetz (They’ll Kill Yuo) and Stephen Graham (Adolescence), Nocturne is based on the bestselling detective novels “Lazarus” and “The Sandman” by Lars Kepler.
The first two episodes of the series were directed by Tim Van Patten, whose previous credits include another Apple TV series, “Masters of the Air.”
Early reviews of Nocturne were largely positive, with particular praise for Graham’s “scary” performance.
Here’s Apple’s official synopsis of “Nocturne”:
The series tells the story of Jonah Lynn (Liev Schreiber), a former soldier turned homicide detective who, tired of working the tough streets of Philadelphia, moves to a small town in western Pennsylvania for a quiet life. But as the town and his family come under attack from the diabolically cunning serial killer Jurek Walter (Stephen Graham), Jonah must protect everything he holds dear. When the desperate search for Jurek’s latest missing victim forces Jonah to send his surrogate daughter, FBI agent Saga Bauer (Zazie Beetz), to confront Jurek, how far will Jonah go?
With the first two episodes now streaming on Apple TV, new episodes will air every Friday until December 25.
