Apple’s $79 iPhone Duo case sticks on with adhesive

Apple’s iPhone Duo case uses adhesive to attach to the device, according to people who have purchased one.

The case comes in two parts and uses adhesive strips along the interior edges to securely attach to an ‌iPhone Duo‌. An included insert instructs users to peel the protective film off the adhesive, place each half on the Duo, then press to ensure it sticks well.

The ‌iPhone Duo‌ case is made from polycarbonate and is available in sand and navy blue. It’s designed to protect the back of the iPhone, where the camera bump is, as well as the front around the exterior screen. It features a cutout for the front screen and no protection for the inside of the device when unfolded.

Apple also sells the ‌iPhone Duo‌ Folio with Kickstand, and this case does not use adhesive. It attaches magnetically to the ‌iPhone Duo‌, but it does not provide protection for the sides of the device and covers the front screen when in use. It uses magnets to make it easier to fold if the exterior screen is needed.

Pre-orders for the‌iPhone Duo‌ began today and the first devices won’t arrive to customers until next Friday, but the cases are in stores today. Initial stock of the iPhone Duo‌ is sold out and shipping estimates are now January 25 for all colors and capacities.

The ‌iPhone Duo‌ Folio is priced at $129 and the ‌iPhone Duo‌ Case is priced at $79.
