Aqib Talib attacks Ryan Fitzpatrick for comments on Bo Nix

Comments Off on Aqib Talib attacks Ryan Fitzpatrick for comments on Bo Nix

Four years ago, Aqib Talib and Ryan Fitzpatrick were set to become colleagues on Prime Video’s cover of Thursday Night Football. If Talib hadn’t resigned after his brother shot a man during a youth football game, the final postgame show could have gotten very spicy.

After the Broncos’ 17-14 overtime victory Thursday night against the Seahawks, Fitzpatrick I did everything in my power to Broncos quarterback Bo Nix. Fitzpatrick called Nix’s performance “almost disrespectful to the quarterback position” before later saying, “It’s rubbish.” This effort is rubbish. »

It seemed personal or, frankly, planted by someone at the Broncos in an effort to send a message to Nix. Either way, it was overkill. And that prompted a reaction from Talib, whose career included a stint with the Broncos.

“You disrespect the quarterback position because you suck” Talib said on the Grill podcast. “Period.”

Talib had much more to say about Fitzpatrick.

“We’re talking about a guy who played for nine different teams in 17 years,” Talib added. “Nobody wants his ass. We’re talking about a guy who only played for a team for more than two years one time. That’s Buffalo. And his record as a starter in Buffalo was 19-35. That really sucks. A guy who played 17 years, 147 starts, and never sniffed a playoff game. He never touched the playoffs. That’s disrespectful to the quarterback position.

“You suck. You suck, bro. We’re talking about a guy who had 169 interceptions, more interceptions than he started. How can a quarterback of his caliber talk about what’s disrespectful to the quarterback position? I know Amazon is begging you to be more entertaining, and you just call bullshit. Nobody cares about what Fitzpatrick said. Nobody was scared to play against you. You’re worthless.”

This is a harsh and direct criticism from Talib. But it’s not much harsher or direct than what Fitzpatrick said about Nix. And it will be interesting to see if Fitzpatrick has anything to say in response to Talib.
