“Arguably better than Face ID”: the iPhone Duo Touch ID tip to try
An iPhone Duo owner shared a Touch ID trick on Reddit that he says is “arguably better than Face ID.” This involves taping the lowest part of your index finger instead of the tip of your finger. The poster states that this segment naturally rests against the side button when gripping and unlocks the phone when you lift it, and it seems at least some users agree.
The trick has since been shared on the MacRumors forums, where another Duo owner reports that it works for them. That said, grip styles vary and it’s not guaranteed to work for everyone, but intrigued users can test the tip themselves by registering additional digit bits via Settings ➝ Touch ID & Passcode. After all, more is usually better.
