Barbara Palvin talks about returning to the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show as a first-time mom.
The 33-year-old model and her husband Dylan Sprouse announced the arrival of their first child in an Instagram post on September 28. The couple has not yet publicly announced the name of their baby.
Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE backstage at the Los Angeles show on Sunday, October 18, Palvin said being back on the iconic runway felt “empowering” after welcoming her baby girl.
“I’m going to be six weeks postpartum tomorrow, and I think in the United States most people have to go back after six weeks. So it’s not that big of a deal,” Palvin told PEOPLE. “I feel good. I think it’s very encouraging that the Victoria’s Secret team invited me to the show and that we support women.”

Palvin walked the Victoria’s Secret runway on Sunday wearing a romantic sheer pink negligee decorated with script writing, while sporting a bouncy blowout and dewy pink makeup.
The model told PEOPLE backstage at the show that motherhood has been a “fun” adventure so far.
“It’s been an adventure, fun, but also scary. It’s like a roller coaster, I guess,” she said.

Palvin added that her husband Sprouse, 34, is a natural “daughter dad” to their little girl.
“Dylan is awesome. He always wanted to be a dad, and I think he’s amazing as a girl dad,” she told PEOPLE. “I think he was supposed to be a girl dad. He didn’t know it before, but he was supposed to be one.”

Sprouse appeared like a very proud husband during the show as he sat in the audience as he watched his wife walk the catwalk.
Palvin said of the new dad: “He’s stepping into this role. We’re both learning. It’s a big adjustment. We’re doing the best we can.”

After the Victoria’s Secret Show, the new mom isn’t slowing down as she’s already made plans for Halloween with her family.
“I’m planning the whole Halloween party, so everything (has) been planned for months now,” Palvin told PEOPLE, adding that she’s already picked out costumes for her little girl.
“There are several options for baby girls,” she said enthusiastically.
