The Chicago Bears and Seattle Seahawks will close out Week 8 of the NFL season on “Monday Night Football,” with kickoff set for 8:15 p.m. ET at Lumen Field in Seattle.

The Seahawks find themselves 4-3 to start the season with Sam Darnold at the helm, coming off a championship season. The team has lost three of its last five games, but the Seahawks offense will get some reinforcements in Week 8. All-Pro guard Quenton Nelson will make his debut on the offensive line after last week’s trade with the Indianapolis Colts.

Seattle will also have its top running backs in the mix as Zach Charbonnet makes his season debut after a torn ACL ended his 2025 campaign. Rookie first-rounder Jadarian Price will also return to the lineup after a stint on injured reserve.

On the other side, All-Pro defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons will make his debut with the Bears after a blockbuster trade with the Tennessee Titans last week. The Bears paid a premium price for Simmons, sending a package that included two first-round picks for the star. The Bears appear to be going all-in on franchise quarterback Caleb Williams on a rookie contract amid their 5-2 start.

Chicago is forced to go for a field goal after Seattle gets a huge stop on third-and-8, and Cairo Santos makes the 44-yarder.

It looked like a bit of a scramble between the Bears offense and Seahawks defense after the stop, but that dissipated before the field goal unit took the field.

Now it’s the Bears’ turn for a three-and-out, and they almost block Dickson’s punt in return.

Chicago will take over with its 27 now with 9:34 left in the half.

Seattle again forced a quick three-and-out, and Caleb Williams just missed Luther Burden.

The Seahawks will get the ball back quickly with a shot to take the lead here. The Seahawks actually blocked that punt, but it still rolled 45 yards.

Chicago’s defense showed up again. Charbonnet was stuffed at the line, then Simmons brought him down in the backfield on a short pass.

Seattle had to settle for a field goal after excellent field position. It will work, but they are still behind at the start of the second.

The Seahawks aren’t on the board yet, but Sam Darnold puts them in scoring position after two big passes to Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

They’ll be inside the Chicago 10 when we get back.

This time, the Seahawks defense holds Chicago to threes – a relief for Seahawks fans after that first drive.

A bit of chaos there: Sam Darnold lost the ball in the scrimmage after a nasty hit from linebacker Devin Bush, but was then nullified before the hit. Seattle will have to punt again.

Jeffery Simmons took little time to make an impact, getting a huge sack on Sam Darnold that set the Seahawks back six yards.

However, Bears lineman Grady Jarrett was flagged right after for a facemask penalty, giving Seattle a 15-yard gain and another first down.

It’s very, very quiet at Lumen Field after this drive. The Seahawks offense will do its best to try and give fans something to cheer about again, but it was a pretty bleak start for this Seattle crowd.

Caleb Williams, while on the run, finds Luther Burden III for a huge opening touchdown.

It was a very dominant offensive drive (17 plays, 80 yards, eight and a half minutes) for Chicago, which seemed to have no trouble getting around the Seahawks defense. The Bears didn’t look like the away team on this drive.

A 12-yard pass from Caleb Williams to Colston Loveland got things going early for the Bears, before a trio of plays from D’Andre Swift helped Chicago win another set of downs.

They didn’t stop there, marching down the field and converting three of four third-down attempts to get into the red zone.

Seahawks punter Michael Dickson gets a beautiful 63-yard punt that goes almost short of the end zone, but Rodney Thomas II mishandles the ball and lets it cross the line.

Zach Charbonnet, playing his first game of the season after missing time with injuries, takes the first carry for the Seahawks and gains five yards.

However, the Bears force a pair of incomplete passes from Sam Darnold – including a crushing hit on receiver Tory Horton – and Seattle goes three-and-out.

The Bears win the toss and the Seahawks will get the ball first to start the game.

Burden had a relatively slow start to the season, but he got hot. He has 12 catches for 225 yards and a touchdown in Chicago’s last two games. The Bears scored 61 points in those two games.

It’s no coincidence that Burden’s rise to prominence began when Caleb Williams returned to the lineup.

It’s tough for receivers to find daylight against the Seahawks. Seattle has allowed an incredible 642 yards to opposing receivers in seven games this season. Seahawks star receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba already has a record 867 yards alone.

For the Bears to win on Monday night, they’ll need to understand Seattle’s defense, and Burden is the most likely candidate among Chicago’s receivers to crack the code.

Good evening from Lumen Field in Seattle, where the Seahawks take on the Bears in a huge NFC midseason game.

Seahawks fans are out in force as usual, but there are a few large pockets of away fans who are very orange and very loud. Chicago’s entrance onto the field for pregame warmups was met with the typical boos, but also surprisingly loud cheers from the Bears faithful.
