Benjamin Satterley, an English-born wrestler known for his high-flying moves that delighted fans around the world, has died. He was 40 years old.
The death of Satterley, known as “Pac,” was announced Sunday evening on the All Elite Wrestling website. The website did not list the cause of death.
“Our condolences go out to Satterley’s family, friends and fans,” All Elite Wrestling wrote on social media.
Satterley, originally from Newcastle upon Tyne, began his wrestling career in 2004 and signed in 2019 with All Elite Wrestling, where he held several championships.
He competed and lost to Andrade El Ídolo on Saturday in Chicago in the AEW National Championship.
Satterley began his wrestling training at the age of 18 after developing an interest in the sport through his aunt, who was a fan of the WWF, according to MN2S, his booking agency.
He quickly rose to prominence, earning nicknames like “The Super Superman” and “The Man Gravity Forgot”. He began his international journey in 2007 and wrestled under the name Adrian Neville from 2012 to 2018.
After signing with AEW, he became the first AEW International Champion and a two-time AEW Trios World Champion.
Tributes to Satterley have poured in.
“Our country’s greatest export. And also the greatest human being,” wrestler Will Ospreay wrote on X. “Honored to have shared the ring with you so many times. You are truly a hero to me and many others.”
“The best boy… We love you”, wrote fellow wrestler Kevin Owens with pictures of him and Pac.
Wrestler Alexa Bliss wrote on social media: “I can’t believe it. RIP PAC 💔”
