Besançon. Want to give your point of view on what the city is doing?

The name could be less forbidding but it is like this: the participatory democracy body of Grand Besançon Métropole is called “participative development council” (CDP). The structure can have up to 150 members, including residents of the city, representatives of associations or economic players. Its mission: “Participate in local public debate and help inform the decisions of elected officials. » In short, give your opinion on the major issues and issues facing the agglomeration. Whether it is mobility, town planning, ecological transition or even water.
Important clarification for those who are hesitant: the CDP can take up a subject that it considers important for the territory. Last February, the outgoing participatory development council, for example, published an opinion on water. A document in which citizens highlighted, among other things, the uncertainty weighing on the “availability of good quality drawable water throughout the year” due to climate change. “For reasons of safety, ecology and savings, it would therefore be prudent to reduce our volumes of water taken, purified, distributed and sanitized,” wrote the members of the council. Enough to fuel, undoubtedly, many more reflections, if we judge by the recent controversies.
