The fire comes as Southern California grapples with a turbulent period of weather, with rain, gusty winds and coastal flooding affecting the region as moisture associated with former Tropical Cyclone Rachel moves through.
The National Weather Service warned of lingering showers and potentially powerful wind gusts in mountainous areas and the Antelope Valley, while concerns about coastal flooding were expected to persist through Tuesday.
