Bill Maher sent a stark warning about President Donald Trump to his new bosses amid the merger between Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery to form Skydance. He also sent a direct message to the President’s latest social media rant regarding his ratings.
On Friday October 2, the In Real Time with Bill Maher the host, 70, warned his new bosses that they shouldn’t believe everything Trump, 80, says about him.
“Finally, big news for us – and when I say we, I mean you who are here every week with me – the merger has happened,” Maher explained. “You know that? Paramount now owns Warner Discovery, which owns HBO, which owns my ass. So I’m owned by – I don’t know. You know what? Whoever owns it, whoever owns me now, don’t believe what Trump tweets about me.”
On Monday, the POTUS once again took aim at Maher’s ratings in a Truth Social article.
“Bill Maher’s ratings are so low it’s hard to believe his show can continue,” Trump wrote. “In many ways it’s SAD because I actually like him. Republicans should stop using him as a sounding board though. It makes them look so weak and stupid!”
However, Maher responded by responding directly to the president.
“You know what, Mr. President? Your insults don’t bother me,” said the comedian. “Make up whatever you want about me. Just don’t mention that I went to Cornell.”
This latest move was in reference to a lawsuit recently filed by a former Cornell University student after she was allegedly sexually assaulted by several men at the fraternity house in 2024.
Friday wasn’t the first time Maher exchanged harsh words with Trump over Real time. Last week, he suggested the president knew a lot about being a “big criminal.” Maher also recently blasted Trump for his response to skyrocketing gas prices.
