Billy Evans Defends ‘You Can See Everything,’ Says Holmes Looks Crazy

Billy Evans, Elizabeth Holmes’ partner, appeared on the “All-In” podcast just as Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim’s documentary “You Can See Everything” began its theatrical release to explain why the couple allowed a film crew inside their home in the days leading up to Holmes’ incarceration. Evans has yet to see the film, which has gained universal acclaim and Oscar buzz since its world premiere at the Telluride Film Festival last month.

“(The context) is that Elizabeth is facing an 11-year prison sentence. She has been prevented from speaking publicly in any way and this would come out after the period of time that she is now allowed to speak,” Evans said. “A lot of media have reported on her. A lot of people have told her story. That narrative is quite fixed. The idea was there, it is, to see her and form your own opinion. It’s not about restarting the case. In practice, at that time, she was not allowed to talk about the case, so she was going to follow the rules and not talk about the case.”

“It was for people to see who she is,” he continued. “I had this constant experience with the people who love me the most, from my grandmother to my best friends. They would hear that I knew (Elizabeth Holmes) or that I was falling in love with this person and now we’re having a child… at first, every one of these people thought I was crazy. ‘Do you know who she is?’ saw in a completely natural environment, like going on a hike or helping a friend Every opinion about her would change dramatically. That was the intention of the film. To help expand on that and allow other people to sit down with her and form their own opinions.

However, it appears that Holmes and Evans’ decision is backfiring on them. “You Can See Everything” only amplified the backlash and distrust toward former Theranos CEO Holmes. Even before the film was screened for press, A24 released a creepy trailer that left many viewers disturbed by Holmes’ behavior and claims she did nothing wrong to Theronos.

“I haven’t seen it. I think maybe it’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever done,” Evans said on the podcast, admitting that Holmes “looks crazy” in the trailer and acknowledging that “especially the music” in the clip has an anti-Holmes bent.

“Am I nervous? I’ve had so many intense, surreal experiences that it takes a bit to raise my blood pressure,” Evans said. “It certainly raises concerns, but ultimately it’s our decision.”

Holmes and Evans met in 2017 and had their first child, William, in 2021. Their daughter, Invicta, was born in 2023. Watch Evans’ full interview on the “All-In” podcast in the video below.
