Bo Nix: Playing well and playing badly is a story and something invented
Bo Nix rejects the numbers.
The Broncos quarterback has seemingly had a pedestrian season so far. His numbers are down from 2025 in completion percentage (64.3 to 59.9), yards per attempt (6.4 to 5.8) and passer rating (87.8 to 80.8). The Broncos rank 30th in total offense after being 10th last season.
Nix, however, doesn’t see it that way.
“Playing good and playing bad, it’s a narrative, and I think it’s honestly something we make up,” Nix said after Tuesday’s practice, via Chris Tomasson of The Denver Gazette. “I don’t necessarily think I play any differently than I usually play.”
Nix was just 16 of 27 for 123 yards with a touchdown in Sunday’s 23-17 win over the Chargers. He only had one completion of more than 16 yards.
Nix, however, sees the positive.
“We’re 3-2 here and we’re off to a good start to the season,” Nix said. “There are things we want to clean up. There are things we want to fix. We leave some things out on the field but we find ways to win like we did last year (in a 14-3 season). I’m confident we’ll continue to do that.”
