Brandon Aiyuk hires Drew Rosenhaus and wants to play again
Wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has hired a new agent with plans to return to the field.
Aiyuk hired Drew Rosenhaus and Rosenhaus told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that he was “work to get (Aiyuk) is returning to work and playing in the NFL again.
The first step in this process would be to request reinstatement of the 49ers’ reserve/left roster. Aiyuk made this list amid prolonged acrimony with the 49ers over how Aiyuk handled his recovery from a serious knee injury in 2024. The 49ers voided the remaining guarantees on Aiyuk’s contract in 2025 and Aiyuk has remained away from the team since that decision.
The 49ers said Aiyuk would never play for the team again. They have attempted to trade the receiver in the past and may attempt to do so again, but they would otherwise have to release him if he goes through the reinstatement process.
