The Milwaukee Brewers and Tampa Bay Rays are back for Game 5 of the 2026 World Series, which the Brewers lead 3-1. First pitch is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET at Tropicana Field and the game will be broadcast on Fox.

Game 4 was a true thriller, as the Rays rallied for a 4-3 victory to keep their season alive. Tampa Bay entered the bottom of the 12th trailing 3-2 before pinch hitter Ben Williamson became the star with an RBI single.

We have a top-notch pitching matchup for Game 5, as the Brewers start flamethrower Jacob Misiorowski (16-5, 1.80 ERA), the presumptive NL Cy Young Award winner. With their season on the line, the Rays will counter with ace Drew Rasmussen (16-5, 2.67 ERA) on short rest. This is a major change for Rasmussen, who has received extra rest in all but seven starts this season.

Rasmussen started Game 2 on Saturday, allowing 6 hits, 3 earned runs and 2 walks in 3 2/3 innings while striking out 4. Misiorowski started Game 1, giving up 1 earned run in 5 innings to earn the victory.

Hamilton flies out to left to end the inning, but the Rays now have 12 outs left to score at least four runs.

Wow, it looked like the Brewers scored a fifth run after a pitch went past the catcher, but the umpire rightly called that a foul on Hamilton’s part.

Tyler Wells walks Garrett Mitchell to put runners on the corners and that’s it for him. Steven Matz enters to face David Hamilton with two outs.

Sal Frelick hits, then Cooper Pratt hits a foul ball that Rays right fielder Ryan Vilade singled to catch for the second out. This moves William Conteras up from third place. Vilade could have let it go, but he withdrew the guarantee.

That ends Pratt’s six-game hitting streak, but he adds another RBI.

Brice Turang follows with a single to left and that does it for Cleavinger, who allows three straight hits to start the sixth. There are runners on the corners and no outs as Tyler Wells comes in to face Sal Frelick.

Garrett Cleavinger opened the sixth inning by hitting Christian Yelich, then William Conteras brought in the captain with a double to the left field wall. THE
The Brewers offense just keeps happening.

Once again, Jacob Misiorowski isn’t racking up strikeouts like he did in the regular season — he’s two through five innings — but he’s been everything the Brewers needed otherwise. He threw five scoreless innings on 74 pitches, matching his longest postseason start.

He was excited after recording that second takedown against Yandy Díaz to end the fifth round.

Cleavinger struck out Bauers to end the top of the fifth, but this game just got tougher for the Rays.

Kevin Kelly retires Jackson Chourio, but this will do it for him. Left-hander Garrett Cleavinger enters the game to face left-hander Jake Bauers, with the Brewers threatening to break this game open.

The bottom of the order returns once again for the Brewers. David Hamilton hits a grounder in the infield to double Milwaukee’s lead. That makes it three straight Brewers hits against Kevin Kelly.

Cooper Pratt records his sixth consecutive hit. This is a new World Series record for a rookie. Pretty good for a 22-year-old who was previously considered a glove-first shortstop and played high school ball four years ago.

Kevin Kelly is indeed up for Tampa Bay, so that will do it for Drew Rasmussen. Four innings might not seem like a lot, but the alternative was pretty much a bullpen game when the Rays relievers were already pretty stretched.

Williamson moved to third to end the inning, but Milwaukee was close to disaster, as first baseman Jake Bauers had to stop a bad throw from third baseman David Hamilton.

It was yet another scoreless inning for Jacob Misiorowski, who recorded his first strikeout of the game in this inning. It has 62 locations.
