
Brian Fitzpatrick won by 13 points in 2024. Now Democrats smell blood in the water.
YARDLEY, Pa. — Republican Brian Fitzpatrick was re-elected to Pennsylvania’s 1st Congressional District two years ago. But today, with just over three weeks until Election Day and as public opinion continues to deteriorate that of Donald Trump presidency, the Democrats smell blood in the water.
Their optimism that at Fitzpatrick Democratic opponent, Bucks County commissioner Bob Harviecan defeat the five-term incumbent was on display Saturday afternoon, as House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries and the Democratic governor of Pennsylvania. Josh Shapiro took to the campaign trail in leafy Philadelphia suburbs to drum up support for Harvie.
“A lot of people look at this race and think, ‘Well, this isn’t really a race Democrats can win.'” Harvie told POLITICO after a rally at a Lower Bucks County middle school gymnasium, where supporters held red signs emblazoned with the slogan: “Fire Fitz.”
“It is clear that they are wrong because the leader Jeffries think we can win it”, Harvie said. “Governor Shapiro think we can win it.
