Could the Broncos end the night on a high note?

According to DNVR Broncos insider Zac Stevens, the Broncos are doing everything in their power to trade for Indianapolis Colts star Jonathan Taylor. Stevens adds that this deal could be canceled at any time and Broncos Country may not want to go to sleep just yet.

Stevens goes on to say that the Broncos WANT Jonathan Taylor now.

“I believe the Broncos are going to do everything in their power to trade for Jonathan Taylor. It could happen at any time. You might not want to sleep in Broncos country. The Broncos are going to try to make this trade happen, from what I understand. They want Jonathan Taylor now.”

After a huge and exciting win to move to 6-2 on the year and take the lead in the AFC West, the Broncos could be on the verge of making a significant trade to improve their offense. The imploding Colts began their sellout last week, and the Broncos were named early on as potential suitors for Taylor. Now, with them as the AFC’s No. 2 seed, they could go all-in and add one of the best backs in the NFL to their offense.

The Broncos have rookie Jonah Coleman passing for over 100 yards from scrimmage, which included a 50+ yard rushing catch to get the Broncos inside the 5 yard line late in the game. Coleman then scored the go-ahead touchdown, which ultimately made the difference in the game. However, the rest of the Broncos’ runners are either struggling or currently on injured reserve.

Veteran JK Dobbins’ struggles continued this game, and he seemingly unfollowed the Broncos on social media last week and then got into a pretty heated back-and-forth with 9NEWS Broncos insider Mike Klis. The Broncos also placed second-year guard RJ Harvey on short-term IR this week, joining Tyler Badie. So you can make a case that they should add to their running stock.

Hypothetically, if the Broncos acquired Taylor, Coleman would become the Broncos’ 1B and give the Broncos one of the best-run games in the NFL. Their running game has really struggled in recent years, so this could greatly boost their offense and make life easier for quarterback Bo Nix.

We’ll see if this trade happens tonight or in the coming days, but it appears the Broncos want to make a dramatic addition to their offense before the trade deadline.
