Three countries have already validated their ticket for the final phase of the 2025 African Cup of Nations which will take place at the end of 2025 in Morocco: Burkina Faso, Algeria and Cameroon.
The Burkinabè team was the first to obtain qualification thanks to its victory against Burundi (2-0), Sunday October 13 in Abidjan. Mohamed Konaté (5th) and Bertrand Traoré (90+4, penalty), striker for Chelsea, Lyon, Aston Villa and Villarreal, today at Ajax Amsterdam, scored the two goals in qualifying for the CAN which will be played in Morocco (December 21, 2025 – January 18, 2026).
After four days, Burkina Faso has three victories and a draw at the top of group L, with 10 points, three more than Senegal (2nd). The Lions of Teranga, African champions in 2021, could join the Stallions in Morocco – whose selection is already qualified as host country – if they beat Malawi this Tuesday.

For its part, Algeria also officially qualified thanks to a success on Monday against Togo in Lomé (0-1). Borussia Dortmund player Ramy Bensebaïni was the only scorer of the match in the 18th minute after converting a penalty. After four victories in as many matches, the Fennecs, winners of CAN-2019, are one of the teams in good form at the moment. With 12 points, they are well ahead of Group E with 12 points, just ahead of Equatorial Guinea (7 points).
Cameroon is also there for these qualifications. Winners of Kenya (1-0) at the Kampala stadium in Uganda, the Indomitable Lions won their ticket to the final phase on Monday. The Cameroonians were able to count on a superb free kick (63rd minute) from DC United player Boris Enow who shone for his very first selection.
Thanks to this victory, Cameroon consolidated its first place in Group J with five points ahead of Zimbabwe and six points ahead of Kenya.
