Cardi B Gives ‘Sad’ Update on Her Luxury Bag Collection: She ‘Lost’ Her Beloved Birkin Esmeralda
Cardi B loves dollars, diamonds, stunted and shiny, but as many of her fans know, she love her designer bags. That’s why the rapper’s recent update about a certain Hermes Birkin she named Esmeralda is so shocking.
In response to a fan who posted on X that Cardi should “bring Esmeralda back,” the Grammy winner wrote on Wednesday (October 14), “I lost her.”

“It’s the only bag that’s missing,” she added. “I think I left her in a hotel and I’m so sad about that.”
The original post also included an older video apparently taken when Cardi first got the leathery brown Birkin. “She’s exotic. She’s the moment,” the hip-hop star says while posing with the handbag. “Her name is Esmeralda.”
As fans pointed out in the comments, whoever found Esmeralda pretty much struck gold, as far as luxury handbags go. Birkins are extremely expensive, costing tens of thousands of dollars.
Luckily, Cardi is well stocked on Birkins. Just recently, she shared a series of new handbags she acquired over the span of a few weeks, including three of Hermès’ iconic styles. In May, she told her followers that her Birkin collection had 40 handbags.
It makes sense that she’d have a hard time knowing where she could have left Esmerelda behind, given how reserved and busy Cardi has been lately. The artist spent February through April on her Little Miss Drama Tour, which took her across North America and grossed more than $70 million from 453,000 tickets sold, according to Billboard Boxscore. She also recently took a trip to Italy, where she walked in the Vogue World fashion show alongside Jennifer Lopez, mgk and other stars.
In August, Cardi released the single “AH HA,” which debuted at No. 25 on the Billboard Hot 100. Before that, she topped the Billboard 200 with her sophomore album. Am I the drama? last year.
