CeeDee Lamb: What can I do next time to capitalize on Sunday’s performance?
Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb grew up outside of Houston, and he made his first NFL game in the city one to remember.
Lamb had a career-high 17 catches Sunday and they totaled 198 yards, including the 12 yards he had on the game-winning touchdown with less than a minute to play. Lamb finished the 34-30 victory in fourth place on the Cowboys’ all-time list for receiving yards and said his mind had already started turning to what he could do next.
“Honestly, right now I can’t really wrap my head around it, but I will say I’m grateful for the opportunity,” Lamb said via the team’s website. “A lot of emotions are going through me right now, and as far as preparing for the next game, that’s kind of how I motivate myself: ‘What can I do with the next game to capitalize on this one?’ But a moment of gratitude, I’m definitely happy to be in this position. I am happy for this opportunity and look forward to breaking more records. It’s nothing to the guys in front of me, but I’m coming.
Lamb is only 74 yards behind Tony Hill, so he could be in third place behind Jason Witten and Michael Irvin before Thursday night’s game against the Buccaneers ends. If this game is anything like Sunday’s, Hill could be in the rearview mirror before the end of the first quarter.
