Charlie Sheen is returning to television and he’s taking his father with him.
Charlie and Martin Sheen will star together in a comedy series called Happy Jack which got the green light from AMC Global Media. The multi-camera show is expected to premiere on AMC and AMC+ in 2027, with production beginning early next year on the Warner Bros. lot.
“I’ve always heard the moments that really matter happen when they’re supposed to happen,” Charlie Sheen said in a statement. “The good people at AMC played a big role in deciding that time was now. It’s no secret that it’s been a minute, and I’m thrilled to return to television in such a meaningful way on an equally wonderful show. The team has come back together – suffice to say, it’s time to give the people what they want.”
The Sheens will play father and son in Happy Jack. The show centers on Jack (Charlie Sheen), a “lifelong ne’er-do-well” with two grown daughters that his father (Martin Sheen) did a lot to raise. One of them, Kate, keeps Jack’s business running and running smoothly, while the other, Sam, is a “wild child” who comes home with a new boyfriend…who’s her father’s age.
Jim Patterson and Matt Ross are writers and co-showrunners on Happy Jackwhich comes from AMC Studios. They worked together on Two and a half men (although Ross joined the series after Sheen left in 2011) and Netflix The Ranch. Patterson and Ross executive produce with Charlie Sheen; Todd Christopher; Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum and Jason Wang of the Tannenbaum Company; and 20th Television. Eric and Kim Tannenbaum were also EPs of Two and a half men.

The show will be AMC’s first multi-camera comedy and one of the few comedies/dramas ever to air. The most recent was Lucky Hankwith Bob Odenkirk, in 2023.
Martin and Charlie Sheen have appeared together a few times in the past, in feature films Wall Street And Cadence (which Martin Sheen also directed) and on the mid-2010s FX/syndicated comedy Anger management. Martin also starred in Two and a half men And Rotation city when Charlie starred in both shows.
