After Florida voters approved an amendment Tuesday to cut property taxes, homeowners may want to know how much they’ll save, and that’s exactly what an online calculator will do.

In May, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced the Save Our Homes website, where users are greeted with a quote from him that says, “Truly owning private property should not mean perpetually paying rent to the government.”

Website users can then use the calculator by providing their home address.

Access the official Save Our Homes tool to estimate your property’s potential tax savings.

Once they enter their address, they will see information related to estimated taxes levied for 2025, estimated taxes levied with a homeownership exemption of up to $250,000, and annual savings.

The calculator was launched after DeSantis unveiled a proposal to reduce — and possibly eliminate — property taxes for many Florida homeowners.

Amendment 3 would exempt up to $250,000 of a home’s assessed value for homesteads, meaning a person’s primary residence.

Under the amendment, a homeowner with property valued at $400,000 would only pay tax on $150,000 of assessed value.
