Chiefs vs. Seahawks live updates: Score, analysis and highlights from ‘Sunday Night Football’
The Seattle Seahawks play motivated on “Sunday Night Football,” and it’s not hard to see why. The defense stifled the Kansas City Chiefs in the first half and held Kenneth Walker III in check for the first 30 minutes of his return to the Pacific Northwest. A victory in this prime-time battle would go a long way toward proving that the Seahawks won their breakup with the Super Bowl MVP, and they took a step on that path by taking a 10-0 lead into halftime.
Walker leads the NFL in rushing, but managed only a modest 28 yards on nine carries against Seattle’s perennially vicious defense.
It must be recognized that the Chiefs were also stingy on defense. They gave up 10 points in the first half, but cornerback Nohl Williams intercepted Sam Darnold in the end zone and returned it 64 yards to erase a potentially back-breaking Seahawks scoring opportunity.
These teams represent three of the last four Super Bowls, and this Week 7 matchup could be a preview of this year’s championship game. Seattle, at 3-3, would benefit immensely from a win there and the momentum it could generate as it heads back toward the playoffs. The Chiefs, on the other hand, are looking for another victory in what has so far been a perfect start to the campaign.
