Chrissy Metz Posts 100-Pound Weight Loss, Rejoices in Surprise Side Effects of GLP-1
Chrissy Metz flaunted her 100-pound weight loss while raving about the “super helpful” side effects of using a GLP-1.
The “This Is Us” alum stunned in a green velvet dress at the “Nocturne” premiere this weekend and shared how using a weight-loss drug helped her as she made her Broadway debut in “& Juliet.”
“I think, honestly, being able to do eight stage shows a week was really, really amazing,” she told ET on the carpet, noting that GLP-1 had “really minimized” her inflammation.
“I’m in perimenopause, I’m having knee problems, things are happening,” Metz continued. “Just the mental capacity to have something else to think about other than obsessing about the sound of food, it’s been super, super helpful. It’s been great.”
Last August, the “Breakthrough” actress gave a candid “progress report” on her journey to GLP-1.
“Look at him,” the 45-year-old said while showing off her biceps on her Instagram Story. “You know, I like all my blips and blops and flips and flops, but she’s making progress in her strength training journey.”
Metz continued: “She’s making progress. We like progress. This is my progress report.”
That same month, the Emmy nominee revealed she was taking a GLP-1 after losing 100 pounds last year.
Metz told People she finally made the decision after years of ineffective diets and called her experience with the drug “great” after being skeptical.
“It’s so nice to not obsess about what I’m going to eat every minute, even though I’m still consuming the meal,” she explained.
“I vilified food for so long because I was taught that it was bad and that you shouldn’t eat this or that.”
In April 2025, Metz told the Daily Mail that she had lost 100 pounds through strength training. When asked if she would ever try Ozempic, she gave a diplomatic answer.
“It’s something that I feel, it’s so personal, and of course I think it’s important to like destigmatize anything,” she said.
“But I also think it’s people’s personal decision to decide what they want to do for their body.”
“I think at the end of the day, at the end of the day, we all just want to feel good and good about ourselves,” she added.
