Christiane Amanpour leaves CNN after 43 years

Christiane Amanpour, CNN’s chief international anchor and one of the best-known figures in television journalism, is leaving the cable network after 43 years.

Amanpour, in a speech in May, expressed concern over a then-looming takeover of the network by CBS News owner David Ellison’s Paramount Skydance and lamented an “ideological realignment” within that network.
