Claude benefits from the integration of Google Docs, Sheets and Slides

If Gemini isn’t quite your cup of tea, Anthropic’s Claude now supports sidebar integration with Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
You can already use Gemini natively in Google Workspace apps, but those who have invested in Claude can now use the AI of their choice within the Google ecosystem via the Claude add-on for Google Workspace which is in public beta starting today. A sidebar opens next to your file in Docs, Sheets, or Slides and can help you create documents, make edits, and more.
In Google Docs, Anthropic says you can use the Claude integration to correct spelling, rewrite parts of a document, or restyle sections, all without breaking existing formatting. In Sheets, you can ask Claude to write formulas or create tables using the context of the document, or even upload additional documents/spreadsheets to create something new in Sheets. In Slides, Claude can create new slides using existing layouts or themes or flagging items that might need to be updated. Gemini can do a lot of this but, as mentioned, it is useful for those who have already invested in Claude.
There is a “ask before changes” mode where Claude will allow you to preview changes before they are made.
The Claude for Google Workspace beta is available to all paid Claude users through the Google Workspace Marketplace. There are also new Claude connectors for Docs, Sheets, and Slides that let you edit Google Workspace files directly from Claude itself by simply pasting a file link into your conversation with the AI.
