College Football Week 7: Live Updates, Schedule, Scores, Rankings
Three long weeks ago, in Week 4, we were lucky enough to have six ranked versus ranked matchups on a Saturday – the first time this has happened since December 1, 2023. Well, we won’t have to wait three years for the same mouth-watering Saturday buffet again.
Just 21 days later, we have six more.
Here are the main storylines we’re watching on a busy Week 7 Saturday.
No. 4 Indiana vs. No. 5 Ohio State in Big Ten Championship rematch
Prior to December 6, 2025, Indiana had lost 30 straight games to Ohio State, the last defeating the Buckeyes in 1988. Fast forward 10 months, the Hoosiers are the defending Big Ten national champions and have not lost a football game since December 20, 2024 – 22 straight games.
Curt Cignetti’s team was tested for the first time last week, rolling to a 20-17 victory at Nebraska — the Hoosiers’ narrowest margin of victory since its 13-10 victory over Ohio State last season.
Meanwhile, the Buckeyes have been rolling since their Week 2 loss to Texas, led by Heisman favorite Jeremiah Smith, who seems to be setting a new record every week.
But there’s more at stake for Ryan Day’s team as it looks to avoid suffering its second loss before November for the first time in the College Football Playoff era. Win or lose, the Hoosiers are already in prime position for another CFP berth with only one ranked team remaining on their schedule.
QB room meets in No. 9 Ole Miss vs. No. 13 Missouri
In what is likely the most crucial game in the SEC today, No. 13 Missouri takes on No. 9 Ole Miss as Tigers quarterback Austin Simmons returns to Oxford for the first time since transferring this offseason.
In case you don’t remember, Simmons was the Week 1 starter on Lane Kiffin’s team last season at Ole Miss, before an injury sidelined him, opening the door for Trinidad Chambliss to command the Rebel offense. Kiffin liked what he saw from DII Ferris State transfer Chambliss, and Simmons never got his starting job back.
Well now Simmons is in Columbia with 14 touchdowns and just one interception, after huge wins against then-No. 8 Florida and Texas A&M.
Both teams would love to come out of Week 7 with a win, with each still set to face No. 1 Georgia and No. 7 Texas later. This should be a must-see in the 3:30 p.m. ET afternoon window.
College GameDay heads to No. 2 Notre Dame at No. 8 BYU
For only the second time, the GameDay team is in Provo, Utah for the top 10 between Notre Dame and BYU.
Neither team has really been challenged this season, with each yet to face a ranked team. After today, the Cougars only have one ranked team left on their schedule in No. 11 Utah, so a win over No. 2 should put BYU’s top CFP spot in sight.
As for the Irish, they still have a November 7 showdown with No. 3 Miami, so entering unblemished would take some weight off Marcus Freeman’s shoulders as Notre Dame looks to rebound after missing the CFP last season.
We have a lot of football to finish before the 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff in Utah, but this game of undefeated might be the biggest game of the day.
