College Football Week 8: Live Updates, Schedule, Scores, Rankings
As for the afternoon half, we have some pretty notable close games to watch. Let’s break down the action.
Tennessee No. 11 in South Carolina
No. 11 Tennessee leads South Carolina 21-17 before halftime.
For a minute, though, it was all LaNorris Sellers.
The South Carolina signal-caller has been nasty on the ground and in the air, commanding the Gamecocks’ offense thus far. In two quarters, Sellers racked up 193 total yards of offense for two total touchdowns.

Sellers’ interception in the second quarter and the Gamecocks’ general ball control issues slowed South Carolina’s offense considerably.
Defensive back Vicari Swain was ejected after a targeting call with less than two minutes left in the half, creating a huge hole in the Gamecocks’ defensive system.
No. 2 BYU at UCF
With four seconds left in the first half, Keyone Jenkins didn’t hesitate.
Jenkins found Landen Chambers on a flat route for a 6-yard touchdown pass to pull the Knights ahead 17-14.
BYU’s Bear Bachmeier has recorded 161 offensive yards and two touchdowns so far, but his stats haven’t been quite enough to lead the Cougars.
No. 13 Alabama vs. Texas A&M
The Crimson Tide are tied with Texas A&M, 17-17.
Alabama’s offense is missing its foundation, Ryan Coleman-Williams, but has figured out how to compensate for his absence.
Keelon Russell has connected with five different receivers so far, including a touchdown pass from Daniel Hill and 109 receiving yards from Rico Scott in the first half.

The Aggie defense stifled Bama’s running game, however, allowing just 25 yards on the ground in the first half.
TAMU quarterback Marcel Reed threw two quick interceptions in the first quarter, including a pick-six on the Aggies’ first drive.
No. 9 UCLA vs. Michigan State
Despite the Bruins’ 105 rushing yards compared to the Spartans’ 32, UCLA has a narrow 14-7 lead over Michigan State. UCLA is just one of four remaining undefeated teams in the FBS as it earned its first top-10 ranking since 2022 last week.
