Colorado’s Julian Lewis recovering after being hospitalized for ‘medical emergency’ at team facility
Colorado quarterback Julian Lewis is recovering in the hospital after a medical issue at the team facility Wednesday.
Lewis’ family said in a statement that Julian was transported to a local hospital after suffering a “medical emergency” and is currently recovering.
Colorado’s initial injury report this week for Saturday’s game against Kansas State listed Lewis as questionable, but no official injury designation was listed.
Lewis entered this season as the Buffaloes’ starting quarterback. He led them to a 2–1 record before being benched at halftime in their September 26 game against Baylor.
Isaac Wilson has started Colorado’s last three games and should take the reins against Kansas State.
A graduate of Carrollton High School in Carrollton, Georgia, Lewis was a 4-star prospect in the 2025 recruiting class. He committed to Colorado in November 2024.
Lewis made two starts and four appearances during his debut campaign. He threw for 589 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions.
