Commanders WR Terry McLaurin injured knee
Commanders receiver Terry McLaurin was carted off the field with a left knee injury.
49ers cornerback Deommodore Lenoir was covering McLaurin tightly on a third down play with 2:16 left in the first half when McLaurin’s left leg gave way. He fell to the ground, clutched his left knee and appeared to be in severe pain.
The team’s medical staff placed a vacuum splint on McLaurin’s leg before helping him onto the cart.
Players from both teams wished him good luck before his departure.
The Commanders’ other star receiver, Stefon Diggs, took an illegal blow safety Malik Mustapha who was not penalized. Diggs’ right hand made contact with Mustapha’s helmet and he appeared to injure his ring finger.
Diggs returned to the game after receiving treatment.
