Commanders WR Terry McLaurin out for rest of season with torn patella tendon | Latest NFL News, Analysis and Updates

Now, Diggs will likely be quarterback Jayden Daniels’ top target with Dyami Brown, rookie Antonio Williams and Treylon Burks being forced into larger roles.

Earlier Monday, Washington placed running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt on injured reserve.

Winless in the last three games, Washington is in dire straits offensively, although it still has the saving grace of home in the NFC East. Over the past two weeks, all four division teams have gone winless, with the New York Giants (3-2-1) remaining in first place, followed by the Philadelphia Eagles (2-4), Dallas Cowboys (2-4) and Commanders, in that order.

After making a 27-yard catch on Washington’s first drive, McLaurin was injured later in the first quarter. He was engaged with 49ers cornerback Deommodore Lenoir on a passing play when he collapsed to the ground, immediately clutching his left knee.

It was then shaped with an air cast and transported off the field.

McLaurin, a five-time 1,000-yard receiver and two-time Pro Bowler, finished the season with 15 receptions for 230 yards and a touchdown.
