Cristiano Ronaldo sets strict conditions for his return to the Portugal team
Cristiano Ronaldo will not return to Portugal as long as Jorge Jesus is their head coach, the Portuguese branch of CNN reported Tuesday afternoon.
Ronaldo continues to make headlines. The 41-year-old striker left the Portuguese camp early on Thursday and returned to Al-Nassr.
He did this because certain agreements made with him had not been honored. Jesus also sent him to warm up against Norway, a 2-1 victory, before deciding not to start him.
After that, Jesus said at a press conference that there was no conflict with Ronaldo and that, in his opinion, he had not done anything wrong in this matter.
This did not go down well with Ronaldo, who then returned to Saudi Arabia on his private jet. He then announced his farewell to the Portugal team on Instagram.
In recent days, the Portuguese Federation and Jesus have tried to restore relations with the five-time Ballon d’Or, but without success.
According to CNN, Ronaldo will not play for Portugal as long as Jesus remains head coach. In Portugal, people see this stance as a sneaky attempt by Ronaldo to get the head coach sacked.
