Cybersecurity Incident Disrupts UNM Healthcare Facilities
ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico —
The University of New Mexico Health System is diverting all ambulance traffic and all appointments at all clinics are canceled due to a cybersecurity incident.
UNM Health says ambulances are being redirected to other area hospitals.
UNM Health officials say patients are not expected to arrive at UNM healthcare facilities on October 26.
Those experiencing an emergency should call 911 and non-emergency cases should be delayed.
Additionally, all non-essential staff and students enrolled in the UNM School of Medicine, College of Pharmacy, College of Nursing and College of Population Health are expected to leave campus for remainder on Monday. The remaining classes have been canceled.
The leave directive does not apply to clinical employees or those identified as essential employees.
