Daft Punk are now Lego
We’re probably no closer to a Daft Punk reunion five years after the duo’s breakup – despite completely unfounded rumors and a series of post-breakup legacy-building projects – but now you can at least pretend Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo are playing at your house thanks to Lego’s latest collection. The origin of Daft Punk’s set dates back to the Covid lockdown, when a Luxembourg father and son suggested the company recreate the duo’s 2007 Alive Tour pyramid stage. A rendering of this model can be found below, along with the DJ duo’s official Lego figures. Bangalter and Homem-Christo now join the Beatles and the Spice Girls in the annals of musicians turned plastic bricks.
“The pyramid stage is one of the most recognizable expressions of Daft Punk’s visual world, so it seems fitting that this fan-created design would be at the center of this partnership,” Cédric Hervet, Daft Punk’s longtime creative director, said in a statement. “Fans have always played an important role in Daft Punk’s story, and we’re excited to see that creativity reflected across the LEGO universe.”
