Dak Prescott didn’t like it when a stadium employee called the Cowboys’ loss ’embarrassing’

As Dak Prescott walked through the AT&T Stadium tunnel to the Cowboys locker room after Thursday night’s loss to the Buccaneers, a stadium employee had a word for him.

“Embarrassing” the worker said as Prescott walked by.

Prescott looked at him, continued walking, then told a Cowboys employee, “Tough guy. Get his ass out of here.”

The Cowboys employee walked toward the stadium employee, who appeared to have left the area by the time the Cowboys employee arrived. PFT learned the worker was a driver employed by a third-party contractor.

Prescott was asked about it after the game and made it clear he didn’t appreciate it.

“When he said that, I just looked at him, and at that point he looked away, didn’t look, and when I turned my head back, he said something else,” Prescott said. “So this is the time when, as a man or a person, you feel free to express what you think. Just say it. Don’t be discouraged by the reaction you’re going to get. If you say it’s embarrassing, say it. If you tell me, tell me. Don’t bring it up. That’s all. I hate to talk about it, to be honest with you.”

Prescott said he had too much respect for the Buccaneers to use the word “embarrassing” to describe the loss, but he acknowledged it was a game the Cowboys were supposed to win, and said head coach Brian Schottenheimer told the team that.

“Using the word ’embarrassing,’ it’s difficult,” Prescott said. “I feel like I’m discrediting the NFL if I use that, especially the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the great Todd Bowles coach, a defensive team. This guy has been a winning coach for a long time, whether he’s been a head coach or a defensive coordinator. The plan, what they did tonight, is the reason. To say ’embarrassing,’ I think I would discredit them. But we were definitely supposed to win this game. It was a game. “We were supposed to have on paper. I think Schotty said it best in the locker room of this league. You have to win the games you’re supposed to win, and when a winless team comes into your stadium on a Thursday night, prime time, yeah, we’re supposed to win that. It’s lame, almost embarrassing, but I don’t know if I would say that. “

And Prescott wasn’t happy with the guy who said that.
