Dakota Johnson ditches her iconic bangs and goes platinum blonde

The name Dakota Johnson is practically synonymous with words like “brunette” and “bangs.” THE Materialists The actress became famous for her perfect long black hair and just-so bangs. However, for his third appearance on Saturday evening live on October 3, the actress experimented with a very different look.

In a Game of Thrones sketch that saw Johnson channeling Emilia Clarke’s Daenerys Targaryen, she looked completely transformed thanks to an icy blonde wig. The wig had long, light locks that fell over her stomach, styled with two tiny Mother of Dragons braids. Importantly, the wig was also without bangs.

These days, it’s rare to see Johnson without her bangs. Talk to Vogue Germany last year, she explained, “I’ve had bangs since I was a kid.” She added: “I cut them myself when I was about four and absolutely loved them. I’ve had them my whole life except when I was like 10 to 14. I feel like my old self with bangs.”

She also shared that she likes to cut her own bangs. “Would I be happy not to have to trim them all the time? 100 percent,” she said. “But I also always travel with scissors and love drinking a martini while cutting my own bangs.”

Earlier in the series, Johnson sported her signature hair with a daring red latex dress and a $124,000 diamond necklace for the show’s opening monologue, which, incidentally, featured a surprise appearance from her best friend Taylor Swift! It really was the night that just kept on giving!
