Dan Lanning provides update on Dante Moore’s health after devastating hit against USC

LOS ANGELES — As his team celebrated a thrilling 41-27 victory over USC, Dan Lanning provided an update on the condition of Oregon quarterback Dante Moore on Saturday night.

“He’s in recovery, so I don’t want to speak too early, but he’s moving, he has the ability to move,” Lanning said. “So we’re going to continue to evaluate him, but I don’t want to speak too soon, but he’s moving.”

Lanning said he had not yet spoken to Moore, who was recovering at Los Angeles General Medical Center.

Early in the second quarter, USC’s Desman Stephens II lowered his shoulder and hit Moore in the head, leaving the Ducks quarterback lying on the turf. The scary moment angered Lanning and Oregon players, who berated USC for the hit as Moore slipped.

After some time on the field, Moore was carefully placed on a stretcher and – after being surrounded by his teammates in prayer and encouragement – ​​left the stadium in an ambulance.
