Derrick Henry: I didn’t mention going anywhere else, let’s try to improve
The Ravens were eliminated for the third straight game Thursday night and they lost their fourth straight game overall, leading running back Derrick Henry to call it the “same story” after the Jaguars posted a 33-10 victory in Baltimore.
Lamar Jackson only saw brief playing time in one of those losses, so the Ravens started games in a hole throughout their losing streak. Jackson may not be back this season, so it’s hard to see why the storyline that frustrates Henry will change before the end of the year. Considering where Henry is at in his career, it wasn’t unusual to be asked after the game if he was reconsidering his plans to stay with the Ravens until he hangs up his cleats.
Henry said he wasn’t thinking about changing uniforms.
“I didn’t mention I was going anywhere else,” Henry said, via a team transcript. “I say, ‘Let’s get back to work. Let’s try to improve and turn things around. “
The trade deadline is Tuesday and any team looking to bolster their backfield could do a lot worse than adding one of the most prolific backs in league history. While a move might not be Henry’s first choice, it could prove to be the best course of action for the Ravens and he might find that he enjoys being back on a team that can seriously talk rivalry in the second half of the season.
