Sean “Diddy” Combs may not get out of prison as soon as expected after a Data line This week’s segment detailed the luxurious lifestyle the rap mogul reportedly built behind bars, with a crew of fellow inmates treated as his personal staff.

Since arriving at Fort Dix in October 2025 after more than a year at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, Combs has seen his scheduled release date bounce around the first half of the 2028 calendar, shifting several times between January and June. It is now January 21, 2028. During that time, he participated in a drug treatment program at the New Jersey facility, was involved in a fight with another inmate and violated several prison rules while serving a 50-month sentence for Mann Act violations.

A report from NBC News Data line this week reported that the near-billionaire former Bad Boy founder had extended his luxurious lifestyle to his prison cell, where a team of incarcerated men received funds from their commissary accounts in exchange for basic tasks like making the rapper’s bed, cleaning his toilet and shower, and giving him massages. Some inmates also reportedly prepared meals for him outside of the prison’s daily menu. Data lineThe reporter said she spoke with several sources detained inside Fort Dix.

An inmate at the federal facility showed NBC News an Instagram account that Combs allegedly used to communicate with contacts outside the prison. The profile does not have a profile photo, but it is followed by Combs’ PR representative.

Despite his time in prison rehab, Combs allegedly had regular access to alcohol, the antidepressant Remeron, a cell phone and a tablet, which no inmate is allowed to have without permission. The Bureau of Prisons has a policy of not commenting on current inmates.

After an eight-week trial in the summer of 2025, Combs was convicted of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution and acquitted of more serious charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. After a sentencing hearing in a New York federal courtroom in which his life was laid bare, he was sentenced to 50 months in prison. He and his lawyers are awaiting a decision on their appeal of the sentence.

But their client did not defend himself from the inside. TMZ reported on July 24 that Combs was allegedly involved in a fight with another inmate over an insult and was subsequently placed in solitary confinement. The skirmish would have pushed back his release date by about a month, to February 20, 2028.

Combs’ representative did not respond to a request for comment. The Hollywood Reporter Friday to comment on Data line history. Asked about reports of solitary confinement, the representative said he was unable to confirm Combs’ movement out of the general population at Fort Dix and into “the hole,” saying THR“I can’t find out where he is. BOP doesn’t keep us informed.”
