Sean “Diddy” Combs may be behind bars, but he’s reportedly found a way to take the benefits of his former luxurious lifestyle with him.
Combs, who is serving his 50-month sentence at Fort Dix in New Jersey, has essentially hired an entire prison staff, NBC News reported. Four men living in the same unit as the disgraced music mogul spoke to the outlet about the unusual comfort Combs has enjoyed behind bars.
“He’s a billionaire. People are impressed by him,” one of the anonymous sources told the outlet. “Money is power, especially behind bars.”

From freshly made beds to cooked meals, clean linen and Chinese massages, Diddy allegedly transformed his fellow inmates into makeshift prison staff.
“This isn’t some normal shit you see in prison. This is some rich shit,” one of the men told NBC. “It sounds crazy, but then again, it’s Diddy.”
Contraband cell phones, explicit photos, prescription drugs and premium liquor: Combs’ alleged perks in prison reportedly extend far beyond his makeshift staff.
Sources told NBC News that the music mogul uses illicit phones to scroll through Instagram and view nude and sexually explicit photos sent by an ex-girlfriend. He also allegedly bought Remeron, an antidepressant nicknamed “rem-roms” behind bars, from other inmates for its mood-boosting effects.

On weekend evenings, Combs allegedly broke into a secret stash of premium alcohol that was smuggled into the prison by guards and shared with a small circle of inmates.
“You can get just about anything except a front door key and a wife,” one of the sources said.
Diddy even got his hands on a “jailbroken” tablet to watch movies — including “Sean Combs: The Reckoning,” produced by 50 Cent — according to the men.

Combs’ rep pushed back on the depiction of his life behind bars, dismissing the focus on his daily routine as exaggerated.
“The scrutiny of every mundane detail of Sean Combs’ prison life has reached the point where the media is calling ordinary prison life news,” Diddy’s spokesperson told Fox News Digital. “The only real news is that Sean continues to serve his sentence within the rules and is patiently awaiting the court’s decision on his appeal.”

In response to allegations regarding the smuggling of cell phones, drugs and alcohol, FCI Fort Dix acknowledged that keeping prohibited items out of federal prisons remains an ongoing challenge.
“Like all correctional agencies, contraband, particularly cell phones, narcotics and weapons, remains an ongoing challenge, and we continue to address the issue of contraband brought into our facilities,” an FCI Fort Dix representative told Fox News Digital. “Inmates are not allowed access to cell phones, and all Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) incarcerated individuals who violate the ‘Inmate Discipline Program’ policy are subject to sanctions.”
“We are fully committed to protecting everyone in our custody and maintaining the safety and security of our correctional staff and surrounding communities,” the statement continued. “To this end, we operate in a controlled environment that is both safe and humane. Additionally, given the need to ensure the safety and security of our institutions and consistent with privacy concerns, we do not discuss potential allegations of staff misconduct, nor do we confirm or deny the existence of a related investigation.”
“However, we can generally tell you that allegations of staff misconduct are taken seriously and, in accordance with national policy, investigated if warranted,” the statement concluded. “Incidents of potential criminal activity or misconduct within BOP facilities are thoroughly investigated for possible administrative disciplinary action or criminal prosecution.”

The musician was sentenced on October 3, 2025 to 50 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release and a fine of $500,000. The rapper was transferred to Fort Dix serve the remainder of his sentence later this month. At the time of publication, Diddy’s release date was set for January 21, 2028.
Diddy’s trial for eight weeks, during which jurors heard dozens of testimonies, concluded on July 2, 2025. The rapper was acquitted of the most serious charges against him – sex trafficking and racketeering.
The “I’ll Be Missing You” singer has appealed. Diddy’s team claimed the sentence he received was illegal because the judge relied on charges thrown out by the jury, according to the appeal brief obtained by Fox News Digital.
